Rha-Nefertiti

'Rha-Nefertiti'
  • Private collection in Germany.

Rha-Nefertiti is inspired by the fascinating atmosphere behind the ancient Egyptian queen Nefertiti, considered the great royal wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten, she joined her husband in the great but ephemeral religious revolution that tried to impose the cult of the single god Aton, the solar disk.

Together, Akhenaten and Nefertiti were responsible for the creation of a new henotheistic religion which caused, for twenty years, upheavals within the ancient Egyptian religion and some political unrest.

The composition presents a chaotic and stable union of elements and texturized materials around the subject that generate an effect of dynamism and sci-fi emulation.

Bust of Nefertiti, also called Nefertiti’s Head, or just Nefertiti, is one of the best-known art treasures of Ancient Egypt and is considered the masterpiece of portraiture of the Amarna period.
