Mixedmedia work on paper inspired by archeological findings performed with pigments, pencils and manual collage on parchment paper.
As often happens with the analysis of archaeological findings, translation of epithets reported on findings gives archeologists that necessary information to discover a new event or historical connection within the entire timeline of the place and events of the discovery and beyond.
‘Reperto 1 – Off fear’ shows a series of ancient hieroglyphs at the top left of the composition manually collaged, surmounted by the number 1, which identifies the number of the artifact found during the discovery of the tomb; near, the epithet, a magical formula: ‘fear, take it all off of my wings’ has to be translated as ‘take away all the fears from my wings’.
This work is also inspired by the photogrammetry system used to discover artefacts underground. 3D photogrammetry is the process of reproducing a physical object to make an accurate 3D model.
It can be used to capture everything from people and historical artifacts to planes, buildings and even larger structures. With photogrammetry techniques it is possible to acquire detailed metric data starting from the processing of stereometric photographic elements. Photogrammetry techniques allow you to identify the spatial position of all points of the object, scenario or place.
