“In the era that goes from Homer to Socrates, a movement that places Nature as investigation study, developed in ancient Greece. Aristotle called these thinkers “physicists” or “physiologists” (hence term “Physis”) to define Nature accordingly to its universal meaning and rules. In the mid-fifth century, with the Sophistry movement, “Physis” also becomes a political topic, but opposed to the “Nomos”, the so-called positive law of the city.”
