Frequency is a work on paper inspired by the Egyptian deity Ptah, hieroglyphs and natural frequencies.
Ptah (“creator”) is an Egyptian deity, creator god, demiurge of the city of Memphis, patron of craftsmen and architects as well as god of knowledge.
He himself was an engineer, bricklayer, blacksmith and artist. Apis was his oracle. He was connected with the deities Sokar and Osiris, whose together constituted Ptah-Seker-Osiris. Like Tanen, Ptah was known as a chthonic deity. He was married to Sekhmet or (according to a few sources) Bastet. Among his children: Nefertum, Mihos and Imhotep.
In iconography he is depicted as a mummified man with a beard, holding in his hands a composite scepter with the ankh (symbol of life), the uas as a staff of power, and the djed (symbol of stability). He often has a leather cap on his head.
By some sources he is considered the sole uncreated creator of the entire universe, and is also believed, at times, to be a personification of primordial matter considered as a Frequency. At a certain point in Egyptian history, in fact, these two divinities began to be assimilated into a single entity, Ptah-Tatenen, according to a process not dissimilar to that which happened to the much more well-known Amon-Ra.
The importance of the role of Ptah in Egyptian mythology is demonstrated by the etymology of term “Egypt”, a Greek corruption of lemma Hut-ka-Ptah “House of the spirit of Ptah”, from the monumental complex of the divinity in Memphis.
