Seshat is an Egyptian deity of the ancient Egyptian pantheon.
This work is inspired by this character.
She was the goddess of writing, of arithmetic, of the architectural designs of temples and royal buildings and of architecture, variously venerated as wife ( sister or daughter) of Thoth, the ibis-god of writing, knowledge and measurement of time.
She was called “Lady of the builders”, “Goddess of construction”, “Founder of architecture”, “Lady of the stars”, “Lady of books” or “Heavenly librarian”.
Elevation Merge is inspired also by a specific ritual of ancient Egypt; As “Lady of the builders”, Seshat was considered the inspiration for the models of the new templesː she was therefore represented on earth next to the pharaoh every foundation of a temple, the religious rite called ” stretching the rope”, or “of the tension of the rope”, which served to align the axis of the four corners of the future sacred monuments, or pyramids, with the constellations.
This rite seems to date back to the 2nd dynasty.
2900 BC.
