DeAnima

'De Anima'

Big format mixedmedia artwork on canvas that shows the face of the ancient greek philosopher Aristotle mixed with abstract and symbolic elements performed with house paints, mixtures of glue and charcoal and acrylic paint.

The title of this painting is the same as that of the naturalistic poem written by the Greek philosopher in which he identifies and investigates reasons, causes and details of the evolution of species from the inanimate world, to the vegetable one up to the superior intellect defined by tradition as “God”, or the so-called “motionless engine”.
