'Ambienth 14 - Ramesside'
info
info
During the reign of Ramesses II in the ancient Egyptian world, a stylistic evolution of the royal portrait happened.
The face of this statue bears notable similarities to that of Seti I, Ramesses II’s predecessor, which is why it has sometimes been thought to be a statue of the father usurped by his son.
However, neither the sculpture nor the inscription show visible signs of rework. It probably dates back to the beginning of the reign of Ramesses II.
This artwork reunites these historical elements with the composition and layers sublimation with the aim of the ambient in which is located in the Egyptian Museum of Turin, that is, in room 14.
