'Golden Sekhmet'

Composition of Sekhmet appears to be simple and stable, but on the layers below the subject there are a lot of different mediums and material splashed and covered with gold sprays as a sign of healing.

Canvas representing a clear profile of the lioness deity “Sekhmet” statue depicted with acrylic paint on a neutral background made with gold sprays.

Sekhmet means ‘the mighty one’, and is the second statue positioned at the entrance of the Egyptian Museum in Turin and, according to one of the classical versions of the myth, she also represented the violent as well as the healer human spiritual system element.

Sekhmet was also the main protagonist of one of the bloodiest myths of Ancient Egypt; that of the destruction of men ‘The Myth of the Celestial Cow’ , in which, sent to Earth to destroy the human species, intoxicated by the blood of men, escapes the control of gods Ra.
